Site search questions
How is this different from my website's normal search?
Visitors can type a question in plain words. They get a short answer written only from your content, with the pages it came from, plus the matching pages and products. Normal search only matches words.
Where does it find answers?
In the same knowledge as your AI agent: your website pages, files, questions and answers, help centre articles and, if you connect a shop, your products.
Do I need API keys to show products?
No. Shopify and WooCommerce shops share their products publicly, and we read that list once a day. Nothing is ever written to your shop.
What happens if there is no good answer?
The box does not make up an answer: it shows only what your content supports. The search is added to your list of unanswered questions, so you can write the missing answer.
Does each search cost something?
Each search counts toward your plan's monthly site searches. At the limit the box says search is unavailable; your website and chat keep working.
Can I use it inside the chat too?
Yes. While site search is on, a Search button appears in the chat window's header, so visitors can use either.
